A 21th Century Oliver Twist in 3D

According to Variety, the production of a modern 3D version of Dicken's classic Oliver Twist has been greenlighted by Red Bull Media House. Twist 3D will be distributed by The Salt Co. Twist 3D will be directed by Oliver Blackburn already known for the horror flick "Donkey Punch" on which holidays of three Brit girls are going wrong.

Twist 3D is a stereoscopic 3D retelling of Charles Dickens' "Oliver Twist" is set in the present day and comes from an original idea by the Brothers Lynch and Simon Thomas.

The story will center around the novel's Fagin Gang, which will use the physical vaulting art of parkour to carry out a series of art thefts in the film. Red Bull Media House's Sophokles Tasioulis, Pure Grass' Ben Grass and Salt's Piers Tempest will produce the movie and plan to begin pre-production in January 2013.
