The RED EPIC 3D Rig
The ultimate in state-of-the-art digital cinema, capable of 5K (5120x2160) RAW acquisition at up to 120fps, the Red Epic is truly at the pinnacle of modern camera technology. Testament to this fact, the vast majority of Hollywood blockbusters being filmed in 3D today are using this camera system, with directors such as Peter Jackson ("The Hobbit"), Ridley Scott ("Prometheus") and Mark Webb ("The Amazing Spiderman") all having used them to film their movies.
Golden Gate 3D's Red Epic 3D rig is configured around two Epic-X cameras in an over/through configuration for minimal size, using the state-of-the-art Screenplane Steadi-Flex beamsplitter mirror rig with the revolutionary Marshall autostereoscopic 3D monitor. They have both PL and EOS mounts available to suit your project's needs and can reconfigure the rig in other ways for maximum flexibility. The total weight of the rig is under 20 Kg, which is remarkable when you consider the quality of the resulting images!
