Obox W3D Smartphone Available in China
The Obox W3D game console/smartphone hybrid has been reviewed by Gimodo: "With a front-facing, eye-tracking camera, the W3D is able to tell exactly how you're looking at it, and the effect is pretty convincing. From straight on, stereoscopic 3D images pop right out nicely, and thanks to that tracking, you don't have to hold the phone completely still to make sure they don't disappear. You have to turn it something fierce before the illusion breaks.". video presentation here under.
The Obox W3D is a Android "smartphone plus game console" with a 5.5 inches screen capable of 1080p video made by chinese company Snail. The display is ablr to present stereoscopic content without any 3D glasses.
According to our information, Snail has no intention to release the Obox W3D outside of China. The Obox was demonstrated at the CES last week in Las Vegas.
