"I Am You", The First 3D Movie Made fo Oculus Rift VR Helmets
Toronto filmmaker Elli Raynai scripted and shot the first 10-minute short indie movie made for Oculus VR headsets. A self-described "DIY micro-budget" filmmaker, the 37-year-old began exploring last year how he could harness the promise of VR-simulated environments for cinematic storytelling. With no commercial software available, he teamed with Alexander Kondratskiy, a 26-year-old programmer who designed their own shooting and post tools.
The completed short, titled I Am You, runs 10 minutes and debuted this month at Toronto's Kaleidoscope interactive art crawl. Watch the clip here under.
