Marvel Digital Glasses-Free 3D 4K Display at CES 2017

Marvel Digital Ltd. reports it is displaying its latest 65-inch glasses-free 4K3D at next month’s CES 2017 in Las Vegas. MDL's glasses-free 3D video wall comes in different combinations of displays to fit in different venue size and requirement. With 140 degrees of viewing angle and 4K UHD resolution, the display is said to offer a lifelike visual experience. MDL will also display a 3D autostereoscopic picture frame designed for the home or office and a lineup of 3D mobile phones.

Jusha Autostereoscopic Displays for Naked Eye Endoscopic Surgery

Jusha (Nanjing, China) recently presented its Jusha-D24N autostereoscopic display to a panel of laparoscopic surgeons in South Africa. The display has been elected the best 3D naked-eye display by a group of 50 surgeons after a simulated routine procedure competition in Germany showed a 15% gain in operating procedure.

Is Glasses-free 3D Cinema Coming Soon?

A team from MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL) and Israel’s Weizmann Institute of Science have demonstrated a display that lets audiences watch 3D stereoscopic films in a movie theater without extra eyewear. Dubbed “Cinema 3D,” the prototype uses a special array of lenses and mirrors to enable viewers to watch a 3-D movie from any seat in a theater.
