Don Searll, the South African creative director and founder of S3D Global is a leading international stereographer, directing stereoscopic animation, stereoscopic live action and stereoscopic post production, as well as hi-tech 3D SFX. He is the 3D wizard. Don says,” S3D is the wave of the future and the future is now.” Inspired by his father’s early 3D technical approach towards photography and his mother’s interest in the arts, by age 12 Searll was already shooting 3D stills.
In the news : A new multidisciplinary exhibition called Room presents an exhibition entitled Muse Room on Saturday October 29, 2011 from 6pm at the Juta Precinct in Braamfontein (Johannesburg, South Africa). The exhibition presents sculptural, video-based and stereoscopic 3D works by Wayne Barker and Don Searll.
Don Searll is a Johannesburg-based artist who uses technology as his preferred medium. He is known for having introduced five technologies of art into South Africa: laser graphics, holographics, computer graphics, virtual reality and stereoscopic 3D movies. Don Searll is on IMDB. Don Searll has worked as director or producer on numerous commercials, music videos, films, and special effects shots. He received numerous international awards and accolades including:
