Barco Installs Laser Projectors in 3D Theatres
Bright 3D stereoscopic movies are here to stay!
Barco becomes the first manufacturer to commercialize its laser projector with the first purchase by long-time customer Cinemark.
As exhibitors strive to offer patrons a one-of-a-kind cinema experience that can’t be replicated in home theaters, image quality is a high priority as a key differentiator among these experiences. Barco’s new 60,000 lumens laser projector represents a giant leap forward in image quality due to its superior brightness level for 3D movies, exceptional image quality and color performance.
Best In Class
The new laser projector is not only the most compact 60,000-lumen projector available, it is also the first DCI-compliant laser projector that is capable of showing 4K content at 60 fps and 3D movies in full 4K resolution.
Partners in Innovation
“Cinemark has been with us every step of the way as we’ve continuously innovated solutions to elevate the moviegoing experience, providing proof of our technologies as well as valuable insights into the user experience,” comments Patrick Lee, Vice President Digital Cinema for Barco North America. “Their adoption of our Barco Laser3D projection will further enhance their stellar reputation for top-notch cinema entertainment.”
