3DS info updated

Nintendo announced this week that the 3DS would be available in Japan February 26, 2011 and in the U.S. in March. The handheld will be sold for around $300.

A March debut is 3 months late for the holiday season but fans should be pleased with not having to pay for expensive hardware upgrades such as 3-D TV, custom graphic cards and the cumbersome stereoscopic glasses usually associated with 3-D effects on games for PlayStation 3 or those utilizing NVIDIA‘s 3-D vision technology. It has been suggested that the 3-D games should also be more readily available for 3DS, with popular franchises such as “Resident Evil, “Metal Gear Solid” and “Sonic the Hedgehog” committing. The gadget will also offer the benefit of on-demand game updates and downloads via Wi-Fi connection.
