Orbbec Persee is the First 3D Camera-Computer
Orbbec Persee is the First 3D Camera-Computer and it is now available on Indiegogo. The crowdfunding campaign is already a huge success with over 200% funding and 23 days laft at the time of writing this. Buying a "Persee Super Early Bird" will cost you $179.
Persee is a crowdfunded technology that brings together an integrated ARM computer that runs applications without requiring an external processing source and a 3D, depth perceiving camera.
What is Orbbec Persee
Orbbec Persee is the world’s first 3D camera-computer. It is a versatile, low-cost device that can fit in the palm of your hand. It can plug into your TV or run without a display, and you can interact with it entirely through the built-in 3D camera.
Persee features an ARM Cortex A17 quad-core CPU @ 1.8 GHz, a 600 MHz Mali-T7 GPU with OpenCL support, 2 GB of DDR3 memory, and an internal capacity of 16 GB from an eMMC flash chip. An optional MicroSD card can upgrade the storage to 64 GB.
Wired connections : One Ethernet port, one USB 2.0 port for a hardisk or peripherals, one HDMI 2.0 for the display
Wireless connections: Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz/5 GHz Wi-Fi.
Orbbec was founded in 2013 by a group of passionate engineers and researchers who all shared a belief that 3D cameras would revolutionize computing. Nearly three years later, the team has created the best 3D cameras available today. And they are breaking ground with their newest device: Orbbec Persee.
Orbbec is a worldwide company, with some of the best talent in artificial intelligence, optics, hardware engineering, silicon chip design, software development, machine learning, and manufacturing across China and the United States. We are committed to excellence in everything we do—from creating our own silicon chip and patented structured light pattern, to designing a 3D camera with the best accuracy, range, resolution, and responsiveness at prices unimaginable before now.
