Magic Leap Turning On Production Line
On stage at a conference in China on July 22,2016, Magic Leap (Dania Beach, FL,USA) CMO Brian Wallace had a one on one discussion with Alibaba CMO Chris Tung (Alibaba is one of Magic Leap's investors). Brian confirmed that the company is working on an AR headset that's portable, lightweight, and can be worn all day, and further said that the aim is to replace smartphones completely.
That said, last month Magic Leap CEO Rony Abovitz noted that the company is “turning on the first production line in its factory throughout this summer.” Watch the latest video demo here under.

Rony Abovitz, Magic Leap Founder, said the company is getting very close to releasing its first products. The company now has over 600 employees and the "system is working," he said. Magic Leap has "a big factory," reconfigured from an old Motorola factory. "We have Class 100 cleanrooms running now. We're debugging a high production line this summer. We are in the go mode, soon-ish," Abovitz said.
The company did not release specific release date or device price.
