4K Stereoscopic VR by Nokia and Haivision Demoed at NAB 2017
At NAB 2017 in Las Vegas last week, Haivision showcased its KB 4K Internet streaming encoder fitted with the latest H264+HEVC codecs to live transmit 4K stereoscopic VR streams from the Nokia OZO camera. Image processing was done in real time on the new Intel Xeon E3v5 processor.

When equipped with dual 12G-SDI input and the Intel VCA 2 (Visual Compute Accelerator 2), the Haivision KB 4K is capable of encoding dual 4K at 60Hz HEVC with synchronized stereoscopic streaming through MPEG-DASH, says Haivision. Collaborating to demonstrate stereoscopic 4K streaming content, Haivision, Intel and Nokia showcased a live workflow with its 4K 3D 360 VR OZO camera that produces real-time stereoscopic 360 stitching through its OZO Player SDK platform.
