1,000,000 3D Movies Downloaded on Yabazam!
The Yabazam 3D video streaming service owned by DDD Group reached 1,000,000 downloads after eight months. Yabazam 3D streams stereoscopic 3D video to Samsung and LG 3D TV viewers since November 2012.
The Yabazam 3D app is a free download for Samsung and LG 3D TVs, which account for 64% of the 3D TV market in the USA. It streams free 3D movie trailers and offers over 80 titles for viewing with a monthly subscription in the USA and on a per title rental basis in 16 additional countries. Earlier this month it launched in the Google Play store for Android 3D tablets.
Launched in 2009 as the first online portal to offer high definition 3D stereoscopic movies for PC users, Yabazam was designed to overcome the lack of 3D content available to viewers and the lack of distribution available to 3D content creators. Since 2012 the app has been downloaded 440,000 times and now exceeds 2,000 user sessions per day.
Yabazam is now accessible from all Android tablets with glasses-free 3D displays.
"Yabazam continues to demonstrate strong consumer demand for 3D programming, as evidenced by this milestone of surpassing one million streams to 3D TVs in only nine months," said Chris Yewdall, Chief Executive of DDD.
DDD transforms the visual experience by bringing 3D to the consumer. Its TriDef 3D solutions convert 2D to 3D automatically, and enable delivery to 3D TVs, PCs and mobile devices.
