What do Gloria Estefan, the Oasis of the seas cruiser, and James Cameron have in common ? 3D, of course !

Gloria will be one of the seven godmothers of the new cruiser ship present for the official lauch of the world’s largest, widest, tallest and most expensive passenger vessel this 30 Nov 2009.

Royal Caribbean will use 3D cinema adverts to help them sell the 5400 tickets to be sold for each cruise. The 3D ad campaign will start at the same time as James Cameron launch its own 'Avatar' movie, giving the cinema goers one more reason to attend the show. Read the annoucement here in TTG.

Faith in 3D = 10 Billion $

...or at least, that is what SONY said today. Sony is thinking that 3DTV and 3D enabled electronic devices are quite capable of producing over $11 billion in the year from 2012-2013, a welcome bonus after the losses incured this year. Reuters adds to this story by announcing that SONY expects half of their TV sold next year will be 3D-ready.

3D Vision for notebooks

Display manufacturers CPT, LG, CMO, and Samsung work with nVidia to provide notebook manufacturers with suitable displays. Expect many new notebooks appearing in December or early 2010 to be bundled with a pair of 3D Vision glasses.

Free 3D Vision glasses

Sparkle Computers, Taïwan,  is releasing several nVidia base graphic card and is bundling a pair of free 3D vision glasses with each card (GeForce 210 and above), at least as long as the stock last. Due to limited supply, thet cannot guarantee...etc. You were warned here first!
