Nokia Research Center in Tampere, Finland, is looking for a new (senior/principal) researcher to provide significant technical leadership in three-dimensional (3D) imaging, video, and visual context modeling. You will research 3D video compression with the aim of making a quantum leap in the compression efficiency. You will also study signal processing algorithms for 3D video capturing and rendering with a particular emphasis on solutions for mobile handheld devices.
You will be expected to initiate and create research ideas as well as contribute to research work that leads to technology transfer, publications and Intellectual Property. It will also be a part of your job description to lead university collaboration projects and to author proposals in relevant international standardization projects. In addition, you will contribute to the development of Nokia's vision and strategy by representing your research area and will also play an active role in the preparation of new research projects.
