Flight of Passage is an incredible immersive ride through the world of Avatar at the new "Pandora: The World of Avatar" theme park by Disney.
What is Flight Of Passage?
* It’s a 3D motion simulator ride that lets visitors link to a Na’vi avatar, straight from the core conceit of the film, and take an aerial tour on one of the planet’s wild Banshees.
Why is it awesome?
* The attraction’s use of the avatar mind-projection premise and its 3D stereoscopic visuals are a direct link to James Cameron’s 2009 film; it’s as if you’re actually experiencing a scene from the movie itself.
The IC3D webpage now contains all necessary information for authors to submit papers. The deadline for submission is Mon 17 July 2017.
IC3D stands for “International Conference on 3D Immersion”. Immersion (with VR, AR,…) being a hot topic today, we stand a chance to attract more papers, and, hopefully, more quickly. Of course, stereoscopic 3D remains at the heart of good immersion. In the past few years, the winner of the “Best IC3D Paper Award” appreciated to receive a “Lumiere Award” from the Advanced Imaging Society and VR Society in the formal setting of the Awards Ceremony. This year, the award will be given out on Dec 13, 2017 in the prestigious Center for Fine Arts of Brussels (BOZAR), where IC3D will also be held on Dec 11-12.

Kong Skull Island was released by warner Bros. on March 10, 2017 and grossed over $565M worldwide (one third in the USA) and is set to be released in Blu-ray 3D this July. Not bad considering the 3-hours long 3D movie costs were kept under $200M.
