This 250* pages book Part I is a 100 pages intro to 3D cinema and free viewpoint television. Part II covers recent developments in geometry processing for 2D stereoscopic cinema and free viewpoint television such as Cell-based 3D video capture with active cameras. Part III is about developments in image processing such as 'wavelet-based inverse light and reflectance from images of a known object' oro '3D Cinematography with approximate or no geometry'.

The authors

Remi Ronfard is a French engineer. He is the head of Image and Geometry Department, Laboratoire Jean Kuntzman, Grenoble University (France); he is co-leader of the IMAGINE team at INRIA, Grenble, France and a specialist in high-level models for virtual cinematography and film editing in interactive narrative environments.

Gabriel Taubin is associate professor of engineering and computer sciencesat Brown University Research. His main research interests fall at the intersection of the following disciplines: Applied Computational Geometry, Computer Graphics, Geometric Modeling, 3D Photography, and Computer Vision.
